Admission Procedure

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications ONLINE in the prescribed application form with all supporting documents as required.

The application form is available at Institute's website www.iifm.ac.in/m-phil at M.Phil. admission page. The candidate will be required to register himself/herself on the website to have access to the application form. A valid email address and a working mobile number is required for registering to access the online application form. The application fee of Rs.500/- should be paid online to complete the application submission. The last date of submitting the online application form is November 17, 2020.

For open category candidates, written test and an interview shall be conducted. The written test shall have three components namely English proficiency, core concepts of research methods and Natural Resource Management aptitude. The qualifying marks in the written exam is 50%.

Candidates qualifying the written test shall be invited for the interview. Based on the performance in the interview, a merit list of suitable candidates will be released for admission. The UGC/CSIR/ICAR- NET qualified candidates and candidates with PGDFM from IIFM with a minimum of 3.0 OGPA shall be exempted from written test and shall be directly called for interview.

In-service category candidates are required to send their application through proper channel which will be screened at IIFM using criteria set by the institute to select candidates for the course. The nominated in-service candidates shall be exempted from written test.

Eligibility

The minimum qualification for all candidates shall be two-year Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in the field of Sciences/Engineering/ Management and related Social sciences. (The equivalence will be decided by the Institute) or it's equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) from a recognized Indian University or Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The relaxation of 5% marks at the Master's Degree (P.G) eligibility criterion shall be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/ DA (Differently Abled) category as per the guidelines of UGC.

For in-service category, Officers from Indian Forest Service, State Forest Services, Group 'A' Officers or equivalent from Govt. Departments/Public Sector and representatives from NGOs with minimum of three years of experience in the fields related to natural resource management can apply.

Seats

The total number of seats available is 26* (* - subject to the approval of the competent authority), out of which maximum up to 10 seats will be filled by in-service candidates.

Reservation

Reservation shall be applicable for candidates other than nominated in-service candidates as per the prevailing norms of Govt. of India.

 

 

WRITTEN TEST / INTERVIEW

Written test/interview will be held on November 23-24, 2020. Exact date and time will be communicated only to the shortlisted candidates. The Written test/interview will be held online.

Other Important Information

Providing inaccurate or incomplete information or malpractice of any kind or canvassing will result in disqualification of the candidate. Further, the candidates are required to submit only those certificates as demanded in the application form. Two copies of attested certificates shall be submitted to the admission office, if the candidate is selected to appear before the interview committee

PLEASE NOTE THAT ADMISSION TO ANY CATEGORY OF CANDIDATE IS SUBJECT TO MEETING THE SELECTION CRITERIA AS SPECIFIED BY IIFM. IN CASE OF ANY DISPUTE, THE JURISDICTION WILL BE THE COMPETENT COURT OF BHOPAL ONLY.

Candidates are requested to check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. Candidates found ineligible will be rejected at any stage in the admission process and no grievances will be entertained in this regard.
